My poetry analysis pt1.

Hi guys welcome back or to my blog, today I would like to do a poetry analysis as my blog starts to turn into a poetry collection rather than anything else. Most of the times poems are analyzed with the fact that the poet is already dead, "so the writer (probably) meant his dying love for xwz when said 'my autumn rose..'" and nobody considers it and nobody considers it that maybe the poet just saw a rose in september and that is all. You know what I mean? Nobody wants to analyze a poem with the poet still living, because they could be embarrassed when the poet corrects them, at least that is my opinion.
Poetry analysis professors, ha!
Anyway.
In this post series, we will analyze three posts, my newest release;
Waiting On My Love, My Mister - My Mystery Man I Promise 아저씨, 사랑해요,
than Heavens Hear My Plea.. and Autumn days.
Read the whole poem by clicking on the suggested 'Recent Posts'.
Waiting On My Love, My Mister - My Mystery Man I Promise 아저씨, 사랑해요
Highlights from the past that we will analyze are:
아저씨 are you waiting for me?
like flower and bee,
like moon and sun, we
have to be
together someplace in the future.
You are no ghost but invisible
my dreams are not old.
I will draw the line
between dream and my future guy.
"아저씨 are you waiting for me?" :
아저씨 are you waiting for me? This is the opening, the first line, the poem contains three Korean words, one of them being 아저씨 which translates to Mister. So the whole question is 'Mister, are you waiting for me? ' As I said it before the english words rhyme with english words, highlighting how special these korean words are. The poem is starting with a question, but as the reader you can't answer or find the answer in the poem. Hidden fact, (not so hidden for those who follow me on social media) I love drama and my favourite is Goblin - The Lonely and Great God. So when saying 아저씨 is addressing Kim Shin (the Goblin).
".. moon and sun, we have to be together..":
This line in the poem is showing how impossible this is; dreaming and being to be with someone who is fictional yin. But also hopeful romantic and light like yang as it doesn't have to be the fictional character but a real person with similar qualities.
(Yin-Yang is two complementary principles of Chinese philosophy: Yin is negative, dark, and feminine, Yang positive, bright, and masculine.)
"You are no ghost but invisible":
The second verse starting with this line, "no ghost but invisible" let us (the readers) know that it's not something that is haunting from the past, but something or someone that is not yet to be seen as its invisible. That doesn't mean negative.
"...my dreams are not old..":
The last line of the second verse is telling the readers that this passion, this crush, this love is not an ancient feeling but it is still familiarly and known. Even if it's something new you know what to do because it's in you, you just forgot it. Also, this line close the first part of the poem, and opens the other half of it.
Balances out the bright daydreaming part of the poem as it brings sadness to the poem,
"my dream" even if its my dream the real or fictional man isn't in it or if he is, he is not reachable.
Not mentioning the last verse of the poem, we reached our last verse, where "I will draw the line between dream and my future guy." is highlighted for explanation.
"I will draw the line between dream and my future guy."
This poem describes a girl.. a woman daydreaming about someone, is half real and half fiction, but here the daydreamer so as the reader makes a decision. Will this be a real and future guy or just a fictional crush?
I hope you all enjoyed this and stay tuned and hydrated don't forget to check out my videos and the Manga Suggestion page <3<3
